Find Great People | FGP is helping a growing private construction firm in Upstate South Carolina find a Civil Estimator with 3+ years of experience to estimate earthwork, utilities, drainage, and site development.

The role involves reviewing plans, takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, and bid proposals, with close collaboration with Project Managers and Operations to develop estimating strategies and ensure profitable bids.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in civil construction or site development.
• Ability to read plans and contracts and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for civil construction and site development.
• Review plans, specs, bid documents, and geotechnical reports.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, drainage, paving, and more.
• Develop estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor pricing and prepare bid proposals.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Work with Project Managers and Operations on estimating strategies.
