Job summary

Staff Domain Inc. is seeking an Estimator with a strong civil engineering background to support project planning and cost analysis. You will prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, develop BOQs, review drawings, and ensure estimates align with standards.

The role requires independent work, meticulous attention to detail, and proficient use of Bluebeam and Excel for estimating across projects from small works to larger developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
• 3+ years in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a similar role.
• Proven experience preparing BOQs and detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam for takeoffs and measurements.
• Strong knowledge of concrete structures, reinforced concrete works, foundations, bases and pylons.
• Experience pricing projects from $100,000 to $10 million.

Responsibilities

Seeking an Estimator with a strong civil engineering background and proven experience in construction estimation to support project planning and cost analysis activities. The role is responsible for preparing accurate takeoffs, developing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), reviewing project documentation, and ensuring estimates align with project

requirements and applicable construction standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple estimating tasks independently, making this role critical to the successful delivery of construction projects of varying size and complexity.

What You'll Do

• Continuously monitor industry pricing trends and update estimating databases as required.
• Take initiative in identifying priorities, improving estimating processes, and contributing to team objectives.

RequirementsWhat You BringWe're looking for someone who:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a similar role.
• Proven experience preparing BOQs and conducting detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam for takeoffs and measurement activities.
• Strong knowledge of concrete structures, reinforced concrete works, foundations, bases, and pylons.
• Familiarity with Australian construction standards and construction documentation.
• Experience estimating projects ranging from approximately $100,000 to $10 million in value.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and reliable estimates.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other construction estimating tools is an advantage.
• Experience in pricing landscaping and waterproofing works in Australia is highly desirable
