Job summary

RockBridge Search & Recruitment is seeking a Civil Estimator to translate designs into accurate, competitive estimates for civil construction projects. You will work with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure every detail is accounted for and risks are mitigated.

The role requires 3+ years of civil estimating experience and proficiency with Bluebeam, HCSS, or Trimble. A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil estimating experience (heavy/civil, utilities, earthwork, or municipal projects preferred).
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Collaborative spirit with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities under pressure.
• Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, HCSS, Trimble, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and scopes to develop detailed estimates for civil projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and risk assessments for bids.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to validate pricing and assumptions.
• Support preconstruction planning with cost guidance and value engineering solutions.
• Monitor material costs, labor rates, and market trends to inform estimates.
• Present estimates and recommendations to leadership clearly and professionally.

What You’ll Do

As our Civil Estimator, you’ll be the maestro of project costs, translating designs and plans into accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure every detail is accounted for, every risk is mitigated, and every estimate reflects our commitment to quality and excellence.

Your daily adventures will include:

• Reviewing plans, specifications, and scopes to develop detailed estimates for civil construction projects.
• Performing quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and risk assessments to deliver precise and competitive bids.
• Collaborating with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to validate pricing and project assumptions.
• Supporting preconstruction planning by providing cost guidance and value engineering solutions.
• Keeping your finger on the pulse of material costs, labor rates, and market trends.
• Presenting estimates and recommendations to leadership in a clear, confident, and professional manner.
