Job summary

Pape-Dawson's Atlanta office is seeking an Engineer-in-Training I to join the growing team. This role contributes to the successful design, analysis, and implementation of projects under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer (P.E.).

Responsibilities include preparing reports, reviewing technician work, and collaborating with project managers on grading, drainage, and utility layouts for commercial, residential, and site development projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date.
• Previous internship with civil design firm is beneficial.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Reliability and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation using MS Office Suite.
• Direct and review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions.
• Assist in the design and preparation of plans for commercial, residential, and site development projects, focusing on grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Analyze design alternatives to address site constraints and meet client objectives.
• Collaborate on permitting and regulatory compliance for site development projects.
• Additional related duties as needed.
