Job summary

Placements24 seeks a diligent Civil Engineering Technician for a hands-on role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will oversee site services execution, coordinate with contractors, and ensure designs are implemented accurately on site.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering, 4+ years of site services experience, and strong AutoCAD skills to support infrastructure construction and project documentation. This is a full-time on-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years civil engineering experience focused on site services and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and general civil design knowledge.
• Ability to supervise on-site works and coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and drafting site services plans (water, sewer, stormwater).
• Provide technical support during construction and supervise activities.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure design and quality compliance.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Review shop drawings and material submittals for accuracy.
• Prepare as-built drawings and project documentation as needed.
• Ensure safety and environmental regulations on site are followed.
• Monitor progress and report site activities to stakeholders.
• Interpret drawings and specifications for field personnel.
