Job summary

WSP USA has an opportunity for a full-time Summer intern in our Northern Virginia Civil Team, located in Herndon, VA. The internship is for students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program and runs as part of the WSP Summer Internship Program.

The 12-week program starts May 17, 2027 (start date may be flexible). Interns gain hands-on experience working with senior staff on real projects, with mentorship, networking opportunities, and a pathway to future opportunities within the

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate program with expected graduation December 2027 or later.
• Master's or PhD in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Roadway and Civil Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
• Note: there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
