Job summary

WSP USA invites highly motivated students to join our Structural Engineering Internship in Herndon, VA. The temporary, full‑time role targets undergraduates or graduates currently enrolled in an engineering program.

You'll assist with research, preliminary design, field tasks, and documentation while gaining exposure to real projects alongside senior staff. No relocation housing is provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation date Dec 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Structural Engineering and willingness to develop skills for WSP projects.
• Able to express ideas clearly to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of following direction from mentors and managers.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
