Job summary

Talanto in Bettendorf, IA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program to support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design.

You will gain hands-on experience while learning the civil engineering trade alongside experienced engineers and consultants, contributing to project documentation, coordination, and job site observations to help keep projects on budget and meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil design work in accordance with code and standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and resources.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
