Job summary

Parkhill is seeking a part-time, non-exempt intern to support engineers and project teams. The role involves assisting with construction phase services, preparing design calculations, and collecting field data.

You will gain exposure to CAD and related software while contributing to various project tasks. Ideal candidates are currently pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, comfortable with computers, and able to work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering or related discipline at an accredited college or university.
• Part-time, non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.
• Proficient in the use of computers and CAD/software tools; ability to assist with basic design calculations and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Check engineering calculations and perform basic quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Prepare marketing proposals and collect field data/test samples.
• Maintain the technical library and perform routine filing and document delivery.

Under close supervision, performs routine tasks requiring knowledge offundamental engineering, mathematical and construction concepts.Provides support to engineers, CADD supervisor, or project team in thepreparation of graphic materials, design sketches, study materials andpermit applications. Responsibilities

• Assists with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Assists with checking engineering calculations.
• Assists with fundamental project tasks such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
• Assists in preparing marketing proposals.
• Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assists in maintaining the technical library.
• Performs routine filing and delivery of documents.
• Proficient in the use of computers, computer aided design and other relevant software and hardware tools.
• Other duties may be assigned.
