Pinnacle Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated candidate that has experience in planning, design, and permitting for Infrastructure and Site Development projects across the Midwest. The desired candidate possesses a desire to continually grow with the firm by accepting new challenges as opportunities are presented.

This position will be based from our Suburban Chicago office but we would consider any Pinnacle Office.

Project Manager (Civil)

This position serves as a leader of projects; to be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

Positional Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture or other discipline relevant to the firm’s services.
  2. Professional Registration.
  3. 4 years minimum of post collegiate experience in Infrastructure Design with a working history in the following areas:
    1. Hands-on design and construction services experience.
    2. Staff leadership & development.
    3. Project management.
    4. Maintenance of a profitable line of business.
  4. Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues with several decision making entities.
  5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work extended hours when necessary.
  7. Demonstrated ability to take on multiple responsibilities.
  8. Familiarity with personal safety while on construction sites.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work with little direction or guidance and must be available to respond to clients on an as-needed basis.

Typical positional duties include the following tasks and responsibilities:

Technical:

  1. Unsupervised design, consulting, and preparation of engineering documents for a wide range of project types and sizes.
  2. Unsupervised project and personnel management (internal staff and external project consultants) for consulting projects; including, marketing, contract management, billing/collection, and project profitability for PEG projects
    1. Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
    2. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
    3. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
    4. Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
    5. Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
    6. Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
    7. Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
    8. Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
