Job Description

Pinnacle Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in planning, design, and permitting for infrastructure and land development projects across the Midwest. The ideal candidate is eager to grow with the firm by embracing new challenges as opportunities.

This position will be based in our Suburban Chicago office, but we are open to considering candidates from any Pinnacle office.

Position Overview

This role involves leading projects, overseeing their overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion, ensuring alignment with company strategies, commitments, and goals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Professional registration.
  • At least 4 years of post-collegiate experience in infrastructure design.
  • Hands-on design and construction services experience.
  • Leadership and staff development skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to maintain profitable business lines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills involving multiple decision-makers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of personal safety practices on construction sites.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to client needs promptly.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Design, consulting, and preparation of engineering documents for various project types independently.
  • Managing project teams and external consultants, including marketing, contract management, billing, and project profitability.
  • Developing and revising project work plans.
  • Assigning responsibilities and managing daily project operations.
  • Reviewing deliverables before client submission.
  • Applying company methodologies and standards.
  • Preparing for engagement reviews and quality assurance.
  • Minimizing project risks and exposures.
  • Ensuring proper documentation and storage of project files.
