VHB’s Hauppauge, NY office is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join the team for Summer 2027. Interns will work on civil engineering projects and will learn technical skills and computational software.

The internship involves collaborating with staff and municipalities, performing engineering calculations, using AutoCAD to prepare designs, and assisting with contract documents and estimates. Candidates should be pursuing an undergraduate Civil Engineering degree and be able to work

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must have the ability to conduct tasks independently.
• Strong interest in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Interact with VHB staff, municipalities and other consultants to advance projects.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare preliminary and final designs.
• Prepare contract documents including specifications.
• Provide engineer's estimates.
