Internship Purpose

Our Summer Internship Program provides hands‑on exposure to the civil engineering and land development industry through a structured, eight‑week experience centered within our Builder Services team.

The intern will develop foundational technical skills while gaining exposure to how civil engineering, land surveying, field operations, project management, and client coordination work together to move projects from concept through construction.

Core Learning Objectives

By the end of the eight‑week internship, the intern should be able to:

• Describe the general lifecycle of a civil engineering and land development project
• Demonstrate foundational proficiency using CAD software
• Assist with the preparation and revision of documents such as:
  • Plot plans
  • Erosion control plans
  • Surveyor location reports
  • Lot fit exhibits
• Interpret and incorporate verbal and written markups and redlines
• Explain how Builder Services, civil engineering, land surveying, and field operations collaborate throughout a project
• Demonstrate an understanding of field operations and construction coordination
• Apply professional workplace communication, teamwork, and time‑management skills

What We're Looking For

We are looking for motivated students who are interested in exploring a career in civil engineering, CAD design, land surveying, or land development. This opportunity is open to students at all undergraduate class levels, including incoming freshmen through graduating seniors.
