Job summary

Jacobs in Austin, TX is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Site Development) to join our Transportation team for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience on large infrastructure projects, assist with site civil design, and learn industry-standard procedures using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

You'll work alongside engineers and project managers, supporting grading, drainage, utilities, and documentation while observing construction progress and applying your academic knowledge to real-world

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least a rising junior in the program.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with site design tasks including grading plans, drainage calculations, and utility layouts.
• Support the preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications using CAD software.
• Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and document field conditions.
• Perform engineering calculations for stormwater management and pavement design.
• Research and verify compliance with local codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with project documentation, filing, and maintaining organized project records.
