City of New York’s Department of Transportation seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to support sidewalk and pedestrian ramp projects. You will perform mark-outs with DDC, consultants, and contractors for ramp construction, and work with engineers to resolve daily site issues.

You will attend progress meetings, report on contract status, inform DOT priorities, and help prepare engineering reports. The role includes evaluating ramps after construction and assisting with design reviews and contract

Competenze

A Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university; or
A Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering technology from an accredited college or university and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work.

Mansioni

Perform mark-outs with DDC, consultant, and contractor for pedestrian ramp construction.
Work closely with consultant engineers and inspectors to resolve daily issues related to sidewalk and pedestrian ramp construction.
Attend progress meetings to evaluate and report on contract status and to inform DDC about DOT priorities for sidewalk/pedestrian ramp projects.
Prepare reports for Executive Director and Chief Engineer regarding contracts.
Attend site meetings and assist with reviews of designs, plans, and contract specifications/scopes.
Prepare engineering reports where needed.
