Zusammenfassung

The City of New York’s Department of Transportation, Division of Sidewalk & Inspection Management (SIM), is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team focused on pedestrian ramp design and ADA compliance citywide.

You will evaluate existing ramps, develop accessible design solutions, review plans for ADA compliance, coordinate with internal DOT units and external partners, conduct site visits, and manage ramp contracts through the project lifecycle.

Qualifikationen

• Requires a civil engineering degree and relevant professional experience.
• Roadway reconstruction experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with NYC infrastructure and ADA requirements is preferred.
• Excellent computer and communication skills are desired.

• Evaluate existing pedestrian ramps for safety and ADA compliance.
• Develop accessible, ADA-compliant design solutions and grade geometry.
• Review project plans for ADA and standards compliance.
• Coordinate with DOT units, external agencies, contractors, and the public.
• Identify design issues and resolve technical infeasibilities.
• Conduct site visits related to ramp design and construction.
• Manage pedestrian ramp contracts through the project lifecycle.
• Oversee scope, budgets, and schedules; identify risks and mitigation strategies.
