Job summary

Arup in New York is looking for a civil engineering student or graduate to contribute to site development and transportation projects using Civil 3D, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling tools. You will gather data, apply codes, coordinate with disciplines and support design through construction.

You will engage with stakeholders, learn regulatory requirements, and develop drawings, reports and calculations as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, or relevant engineering degree.
• Sound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Apply responsibilities to site development and transportation projects.
• Use Civil 3D or MicroStation to layout roads, paths, drainage and earthwork designs.
• Use Hydraulic modeling tools to analyze stormwater and flood protection systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver sustainable outcomes.
• Engage with project stakeholders and clients to develop designs that meet needs and concerns.
• Support development of drawings, reports, calculation packages, and specifications.
• Perform pre-construction and construction-phase site visits.
