Primera is seeking a civil engineering student intern to assist our transportation engineering team. You’ll contribute to project studies, prepare design plans, and collect data under the guidance of senior engineers.

Use CAD tools and office software to draft and document project work, while gaining hands-on experience with real-world clients. You'll work with experienced professionals in a collaborative office environment, with mentorship, tasks, and milestones designed to apply classroom

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering with strong academic performance.

WHO YOU ARE

You're studying civil engineering. Whether a pre-engineering freshman/sophomore or more advanced in your curriculum, you're passionate about what you're learning and boast a GPA of 3.2 or above.

You're an eager student looking to gain hands‑on experience working in an office environment. You're highly‑motivated and looking to apply what you've learned in the classroom toward delivering unique solutions for real‑world clients. Prior internship experience is a plus, but definitely not required.

You're a people person. You're friendly and have a sense of humor. Connecting with people is important. You'll work side‑by‑side Primera's team of transportation engineering experts.

You are proficient with business and engineering applications. Microsoft Office proficiency is a must, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation proficiency is preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You'll apply what you're learning. You'll support engineers in the preparation of projects studies/reports and design plans for projects that can include site civil designs, drainage studies and design, traffic studies, roadway designs, structure inspections, and structural studies and design. You'll assist with data collection and prepare technical calculations.

You'll gain well‑rounded experience. Working on all types of projects, you'll be mentored by experts in your field to enhance your current classroom curriculum. We learn by doing, so you'll be given a good deal of responsibility. You'll be in charge of project documentation and project filing, as well as plan drafting using CAD. You'll also learn a thing or two about state and local standards and regulations.
