Job summary

CPL in Poughkeepsie, NY seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to contribute to water distribution, sanitary sewer, wastewater treatment, stormwater management and site development. You will assist with drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D and support basic engineering calculations.

The internship runs Jan 11th to May 14th and May 17th to August 6th, with mentorship from seasoned engineers and exposure to infrastructure projects that shape communities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing civil engineering degree or equivalent.
• Strong interest in water, wastewater, and site development.
• Willingness to learn and follow engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on conceptual planning and design of civil projects (water, sewer, stormwater).
• Prepare and revise drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with design calculations by hand and with modeling software.
• Support infrastructure, wastewater, or transportation projects.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and applications.
• Assist with construction administration tasks and RFIs.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction phases.
