Job summary

DLR Group in Omaha is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to contribute to civil building systems from schematic design through construction administration, collaborating with architects and engineers across disciplines. You will gain hands-on experience in design, documentation, and project execution within our integrated design process and EPX program, learning to apply BIM workflows.

This paid, full-time Summer Internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year at an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with drafting programs such as Revit.
• Excellent communication, technology, and organizational skills.
• Good multitasking skills to easily switch between projects while keeping track of tasks.
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
• A desire to learn about the architecture/engineering design process.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and engineers as part of our integrated design process.
• Learn the tools, technology and workflow involved with BIM and how today’s designers deliver successful projects, including creating and coordinating documents using Autodesk’s Civil 3D software.
• Accompany team members on site visits to project sites to see the real-world results of what you do.
• Assist in developing concepts, calculations, modeling, drawing review, and project execution.
• 2D Drafting and 3D Modeling using Autodesk Revit Software.
• Help write and review civil-related specifications.
• Assist team with civil engineering calculations and code research.
