Job summary

DLR Group offers an Emerging Professional Experience (EPX) Civil Engineering Intern role in Omaha, NE. You will contribute to civil building systems from schematics through construction administration, collaborating with architects and engineers across disciplines.

The paid, full-time Summer Internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027. You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn design processes, and build skills while helping deliver innovative design solutions that elevate the human experience.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with drafting programs such as Revit.
• Excellent communication, technology, and organizational skills.
• Good multitasking skills to switch between projects while tracking tasks.
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
• A desire to learn about the architecture/engineering design process.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and engineers as part of our integrated design process.
• Learn BIM tools and workflows, including creating and coordinating documents in Autodesk Civil 3D workflows.
• Accompany team members on site visits to see real-world results of your work.
• Assist in developing concepts, calculations, modeling, drawing review, and project execution.
• 2D drafting and 3D modeling using Autodesk Revit software.
• Help write and review civil-related specifications.
• Assist team with civil engineering calculations and code research.
