Job summary

IMEG Corp is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Melbourne, FL. You will work closely with experienced engineers on design, field inspections, reports, permits, and site drainage and grading.

Over 10–12 weeks you’ll contribute to civil project work across education, corporate, and commercial markets, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet client goals and budgets. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
• Strong interest in design consulting and civil engineering design
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
• May assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
• Prior internship in building design consulting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Melbourne, FL. This role works closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs.

Over 10-12 weeks, you will assist with civil engineering project work while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will also work within the project’s monetary budget and support work across education, corporate, and commercial markets.

What You'll Bring

Required Education

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities

• May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
• Strong interest in design consulting
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Preferred

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
