IMEG Corp is offering a Summer 2027 Civil Engineering Internship in Charlotte, NC. Over 10–12 weeks, interns assist in design, field observations, and report preparation while learning the Civil Engineering trade.

Qualifications

• Completed at least two years toward a BS in Civil Engineering.
• May assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing.
• Strong interest in design consulting and client-facing work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, CAD, and BIM tools.
• Able to communicate clearly in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design work for discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and resources.
• Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and document for permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedules with multi-disciplinary teams including architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while tracking progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic site observations and other contracted services.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with project design work for discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment and resources.
• Assist with client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.

What You’ll Bring

• Required Education Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
• Required Skills/Abilities May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
• Strong interest in design consulting
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Preferred Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
