Job summary

Bohler’s Miami office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain real-world site design experience. You will learn the land development process from concept to construction, supporting engineers, designers, and project managers.

Gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, assist with permitting, and contribute to a variety of projects while receiving mentorship and growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on site design and land development tasks under supervision.
• Support design and permitting efforts for various development projects.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create concept, grading, and utility plans.
• Attend team meetings and contribute design ideas and process improvements.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers on project progress.

About the Role

Bohler’s office in Miami, FL is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Summer 2027 intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
  • Concept plans
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Utility system plans
  • Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
