Bohler’s Charlotte, NC office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Spring 2027. You will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D while supporting the design and permitting of diverse land development projects from concept to construction.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate civil engineering program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site design and land development concepts under supervision.
• Support design and permitting for commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects.
• Develop concept plans, grading plans, and utility layouts using Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to advance projects.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit project sites to observe field conditions and support design decisions.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.

About the Role

Bohler’s office in Charlotte, NC is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Spring 2027 intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day‑to‑day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
  • Concept plans
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Utility system plans
  • Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
