Job summary

Bohler in Frisco, TX is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Spring 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in site design and the land development process while collaborating with engineers, designers and project managers.

You'll use AutoCAD Civil 3D to support concept and grading plans, stormwater and utility designs, observe field conditions, and contribute to design improvements in a mentorship-driven environment focused on growth and real client work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Support site design and land development tasks under engineering guidance.
• Assist with AutoCAD Civil 3D design of concept, grading, and utility plans.
• Help prepare and review stormwater management and erosion control plans.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to advance projects.
• Research zoning ordinances and liaise with local jurisdictions as needed.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and support the design process.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for design improvements.

About the Role

Bohler’s office in Frisco, TX is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Spring 2027intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
  • Concept plans
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Utility system plans
  • Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
