Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern in Seattle to support the Civil Engineering team on real client projects. This is an in-person internship focused on drafting and design.

You will assist with AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting, quantities takeoffs, and researching jurisdictional criteria while learning site and infrastructure design concepts in a collaborative, multidisciplinary firm.

Qualifications

• Completion of 3+ years of a civil engineering undergraduate program.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate across disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support civil engineers in the design and plan production of roadway, grading and drainage, water, sewer, pavement, land development, and erosion control systems.
• Assist with civil engineering calculations for site and infrastructure design.
• Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and design.
• Assist with quantities takeoffs and cost estimating.
• Research jurisdictional criteria for planning and engineering.
• Attend site visits before and during construction with project leads.
