Job summary

Cushing Terrell in Missoula, MT is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support our Civil Engineering team on real client projects. This in-person role provides hands-on exposure to roadway, drainage, water, sewer, and site development design using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will assist with calculations, drafting, takeoffs, and researching jurisdictional criteria while learning from experienced engineers on active projects across the firm.

Qualifications

• Completion of 3+ years of a civil engineering or related undergraduate program.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Bluebeam.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn and adapt.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support civil engineers in design and plan production of roadways, drainage and site systems.
• Assist with civil engineering calculations for site and infrastructure design.
• Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and design.
• Assist with quantities takeoffs and cost estimating.
• Research jurisdictional criteria for planning and engineering projects.
• Attend site visits before and during construction with project leads.
• Gain exposure to a variety of project types and teams across the firm.
