Job summary

VAA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Minneapolis, on-site. You won't spend the summer on the sidelines; you'll work with VAA's Civil team on infrastructure projects and gain hands-on experience applying classroom concepts to real sites.

You'll assist with site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and documentation, learn civil software, and collaborate with engineers and designers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Sophomores and juniors encouraged to apply.
• Interest in site development and infrastructure.
• Curiosity, positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities and other civil design work.
• Help prepare drawings, plans, details and project documentation.
• Gain experience with civil engineering software and design tools.
• Work alongside engineers and designers on real client projects.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical, electrical and other VAA disciplines.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits.
