Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking enthusiastic Civil Engineering students to join our Highway Engineering team in Lansing, MI for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience in highways, roadways, and transportation design working with experienced professionals on real projects that shape communities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related program.
• Interest in roadway and highway/traffic design preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation to the office.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
• Completed coursework in Transportation Engineering preferred.
• Possess solid problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsabilités

• Assist technical staff with day-to-day design tasks for transportation projects.
• Perform basic CAD tasks, calculations, and cost estimates under supervision.
• Develop roadway, sidewalk, and intersection designs, including roundabouts and signals.
• Prepare low-level engineering designs and technical data for completion and accuracy.
• Assist with permit applications, material testing, drawings and CAD work.
• Visit projects under construction and assist with field reconnaissance under supervision.
• Participate in the Summer Internship program with networking and skill-building opportunities.
