Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Civil Engineering students to join our Highway Engineering team in Toledo, OH for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on experience on transportation projects, working with experienced professionals to shape roadways and communities.

You will assist with design tasks, CAD work, calculations, and data gathering under supervision. The program includes mentorship, intern collaboration, and opportunities to learn multiple facets of the business.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related program.
Interest in roadway and highway/traffic design preferred.
Must have reliable transportation to the office.
Completed coursework in Transportation Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist technical staff with daytoay design tasks for transportation and traffic projects.
Conduct basic engineering functions including CAD, calculations and cost estimating under supervision.
Develop roadway, sidewalk, intersection design including roundabouts and signals.
Prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and data for completion and accuracy.
Assist with permit applications, material testing, drawings and CAD work.
Visit projects under construction and assist with field reconnaissance under a senior engineer.
