Job summary

VAA LLC in Minneapolis is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to put classroom learning to work on real projects that support the facilities we feed, fuel and power our world.

You’ll assist with site layouts, grading, drainage and utilities, help prepare drawings and documentation, and gain hands-on experience with civil design software while collaborating with engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply.
• Interest in site development and infrastructure and how projects come together.
• Curiosity, a positive attitude and a willingness to jump in and learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities and other civil design work.
• Help prepare drawings, plans, details and project documentation.
• Gain experience with civil engineering software and design tools.
• Work alongside engineers and designers on real client projects.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical, electrical and other VAA disciplines.
• Participate in project meetings and get out of the office for site visits.
