Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Richmond, VA seeks engineering students to join our office for an on-site internship. You will use AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and other software to analyze, deliver, and QC client projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role offers hands-on learning in pre-construction design, permitting, and regulatory familiarity with federal, state, and local requirements. You will work under mentors to develop technical skills across disciplines and contribute to real projects.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering degree or in progress in listed majors.
In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree.
Candidates enrolled in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering or Engineering Technology programs.

Responsibilities

Utilize technical software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects.
Collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions for the built environment.
Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and company practices.
Learn software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS.
