Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Richmond, VA seeks engineering students to join our office for an on-site internship. You will use AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and other software to analyze, deliver, and QC client projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role offers hands-on learning in pre-construction design, permitting, and regulatory familiarity with federal, state, and local requirements. You will work under mentors to develop technical skills across disciplines and contribute to real projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or in progress in listed majors.
• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree.
• Candidates enrolled in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering or Engineering Technology programs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects.
• Collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions for the built environment.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Richmond, Virginia (VA)office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Interns will learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
  • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
  • Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
  • Engineering Technology

Hourly Rate: $27 - $28
