Job summary

IMEG in Macomb, IL is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. The role supports municipal, transportation, and public works projects with hands-on design, field observations, and project documentation.

You'll gain exposure to civil design, coordination with disciplines, and client communications under guidance from experienced engineers. This paid internship includes mentorship and a clear path to potential full-time opportunities within IMEG.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil design work in accordance with code and IMEG standards
• Research commercially available equipment and resources
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation
• Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement
