Baxter & Woodman in Crystal Lake, IL offers a Construction Engineering Intern position starting May 2027. You will participate in field observations across transportation, water, and wastewater projects, and work directly with firm clients to gain hands-on civil engineering experience.

Assignments may include roadway reconstructions, bridge and wall improvements, water and stormwater infrastructure construction, and sanitary sewer projects, with active involvement in construction oversight.

Qualifications

• Ongoing pursuit of a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in construction engineering.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills are required.
• Desire and ability to work outdoors 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Construction services with quantity computation, construction layout, survey, and inspection.
• Field work, studies, and design of water and wastewater system rehabilitation.
• Assisting engineers with evaluation, study, and design of transportation, storm sewer, potable water, sanitary sewers, and treatment plant improvements.
