Job summary

Baxter & Woodman invites applications for a Construction Engineering Intern position in our Mokena, IL office. Starting May 2027, you will support transportation, water, and wastewater projects by observing field construction and working directly with firm clients.

You will assist with roadway reconstructions, bridges, water/wastewater infrastructure, and related rehabilitation projects while gaining hands-on civil engineering experience in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree with construction emphasis.
• Willingness to travel within Baxter & Woodman service area.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Construction services with quantity computation, layout, survey, and inspection.
• Assist engineers with field work, evaluation, and design for water, wastewater, and transportation projects.
