Baxter & Woodman Inc. offers an engineering internship in our Chicago (O'Hare), Mokena, Naperville, or Crystal Lake, IL offices.

This on-the-job experience supports environmental and construction groups with design and construction of various facilities and provides a chance to work directly with firm clients. Interns will assist senior engineers with potable water distribution, wastewater systems, and drainage projects, and gain experience through field studies and design work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree with Environmental emphasis.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Available to start May or June 2027.
• Own transportation to travel throughout Chicago area.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with evaluation, study and design of potable water distribution and wastewater systems, and drainage.
• Engage in field work and design of water system rehabilitation.
• Conduct field work for stormwater systems and water main/sanitary sewer installation.
