Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc invites aspiring engineers to join our Water Resources Engineering Internship across Crystal Lake, Chicago, Naperville or Mokena, IL. This role supports the design and construction of stormwater facilities and offers hands-on learning by working directly with firm clients.

The internship is open to students pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree, with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0. You will gain experience in fieldwork, design, and collaboration with multiple departments,

Qualifications

• Undergraduate pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree.
• Minimum GPA requirement: 3.0/4.0.
• Available to start May 2027.
• Ability to travel throughout Chicago area.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting senior engineers with the evaluation, study, and design of stormwater systems.
• Field work, studies, and design of stormwater infrastructure.
• Collaboration with other technical departments (Infrastructure, Transportation, CADD, etc...).
• Construction work including quantity computation, construction layout, survey, and construction inspection.
