Job summary

Stantec is offering Summer 2027 Civil Engineering internships in the Community Development Group across Minnesota locations such as the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Rochester.

Interns will work with experienced practitioners on diverse projects, with most time spent on outdoor construction activities and exposure to urban design, roads, trails, and water infrastructure. Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (minimum) in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, construction management, GIS/Survey, or related field.
• Exposure to civil engineering planning, design, construction, infrastructure, hydrology, environmental science, surveying and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with completing the civil component of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting.
• Perform construction observation to ensure project compliance with documents and engineering principles.
• Conduct construction administration tasks including documenting activities, measuring materials, coordinating materials testing, reviewing shop drawings, and providing project oversight.
• Prepare detailed reports as required.
• Assist with construction surveying/staking as needed.
• Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Office duties may include assisting with CAD drafting and design, and preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other deliverables.
