Job summary

Stantec is offering Summer 2027 Civil Engineering internships within the Community Development Group in Minnesota (Twin Cities, St. Cloud, Rochester).

You’ll gain hands-on experience with a team of professionals, working on outdoor construction activities and diverse projects like roads, parks, trails, and water infrastructure. You will develop practical skills, build your network, and advance toward your degree while contributing to environmentally responsible, technically sound solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, GIS/Survey, or related field.
• Coursework in civil engineering planning, design, construction, infrastructure, hydrology, environmental science, surveying or construction management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with completing the civil components of projects in a dynamic design team.
• Perform construction observation for project compliance with documents and engineering principles.
• Execute construction administration tasks: document construction activities, measure materials, coordinate material testing, review shop drawings, and provide project oversight.
• Complete detailed reports as required.
• Assist with construction surveying/staking as needed.
• Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Support CAD drafting and design work, and preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and other deliverables.
