Job summary

Forefront Education Program is seeking an engineering assistant to help design and develop site plans, grading, drainage, and utilities under a senior engineer. You will prepare calculations, drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and assist with reports and construction documents.

You will conduct site visits, support coordination, ensure safety standards, and participate in meetings with contractors and vendors. The role emphasizes communication and learning established engineering principles.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to visit job sites to inspect existing conditions and document potential scope of work.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods working on a computer and viewing a screen.
• Ability to learn and apply established engineering principles to solve problems using sound judgment, independent decision making, and prolonged focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of site plans, grading, drainage, and utilities under supervision.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations to collect data and monitor progress.
• Support project coordination, scheduling, and regulatory permits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and liaise with contractors and vendors.
• Stay updated on industry standards to support innovative engineering solutions.
• Prepare Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans and conduct site inspections per California permits.
