Job summary

Stantec invites applications for a Summer 2027 Civil Engineering internship in the Minneapolis or Plymouth offices. You will develop technical civil design skills and assist with plans, specifications, and reports, while collaborating with design teams and clients.

Qualified students are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and have familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred for site visits.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Coursework in hydrology, environmental, transportation, surveying, or project management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical abilities to complete civil design tasks on various projects in a dynamic team setting.
• Assist with preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other deliverables.
• Attend internal design team meetings and possibly client meetings as needed.
• Procure permits and other approvals from various agencies.
• Communicate effectively with construction staff, engineers, clients and stakeholders.
• Assist with CAD drafting and design, and preparation of construction documents.
