Job summary

Carroll Engineering Corporation in Hillsborough, NJ, is seeking a full-time Senior Civil Engineer with 10+ years of engineering and management experience. You will lead engineers and surveyors, prepare designs, reports, and budgets, and mentor staff while maintaining QA/QC across projects.

Position Type: Full-Time

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering
• 10+ years of Engineering and Management experience
• NJ Professional Engineering (PE) license required
• Land development and Municipal project experience

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers and surveyors
• Lead civil efforts on engineering designs preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, and calculations for various projects
• Establish and foster client relations and develop proposals and budgets in support of the client manager
• Participate in professional and/or technical organizations
• Communicate effectively with various departments, clients, and agencies
• Mentor the design associates on technical matters and procedures and act as a technical resource to staff
• Develop fee estimates for all project types and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope and budget
• Prepare and conduct technical review of staff, reports, correspondence, calculations and prepare technical recommendations
• Ensure that QA/QC procedures are implemented within design teams
• Develop and initiate business development opportunities
• Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve quality and efficiency

Qualified Candidates Will Possess the Following:

• Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally
• Experienced in preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and providing engineering support services during construction of projects
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
• Staff management, leadership ability, and mentoring skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals
• Demonstrated project task management abilities
• Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
• Ability and willingness to develop business from new and existing clients
• Strong local and client ties with area clients that require civil engineering and related services
