Kimley-Horn's Virginia Beach, VA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. The role involves designing water transmission systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should have 4+ years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Municipal engineering experience including designing pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Experience performing hydraulic modeling (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, etc.).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Positive attitude with urgency to produce high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with potential to lead a practice and manage clients and a team.

Responsibilities

• Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
• Manage project tasks, design work, permitting, and construction coordination with staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external clients to complete projects.
• Maintain high-quality sets of plans and check others' work.
• Create work plans and manage budgets set by clients.
