Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our Energy & Utility Group within the Telecommunications Team. You will plan, design, and oversee telecom and utility projects, mentoring staff and coordinating permitting and construction activities.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, 4+ years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation. A hybrid work arrangement and strong client focus are supported by our comprehensive

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Experience in utility relocation design, utility coordination, or roadway design.
• Positive work ethic and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage time while working on several projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Review roadway plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities.
• Design civil relocation plans for telecom and utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software.
• Plan and oversee work production to meet project deadlines and budgets.
• Provide technical oversight, training and mentoring of less experienced staff.
• Lead multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with support groups for quality, on-time delivery and profitability.
• Review projects for accuracy, quality, and adherence to client specifications.
• Provide direction and support for permit plans and work prints drafted in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bluebeam, etc.
• Provide office support for site visits and participate in site visits which may include overnight travel.

What You'll Do:

• Design civil relocation plans for telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software
• Plan and oversee work production to meet project deadlines and budgets
• Technical oversight, training and mentoring of less experienced staff

What You'll Need:

Nice To Haves:

• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or 2+years of project management experience

• Experience submitting and tracking permits (DOT, municipal, USACE, etc.) for utility projects

Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Illinois Pay Transparency $75,000 — $95,000 USD
