Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer in Charlotte, NC. You will work with seasoned engineers on telecommunications and utility projects, gaining valuable knowledge in the utility engineering field.

This is a great entry point to develop technical and collaboration skills within a nationally recognized firm. You will perform site visits, review roadway plans, and contribute to the design process using MicroStation or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 0–3 years of experience.
• Exposure to transportation plans, telecommunications, or utilities preferred.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willing to travel and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support telecommunication and utility project development.
• Complete site visits including surveying, locating, and documenting existing conditions (overnight travel may be required).
• Review roadway plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities.
• Design telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software.

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer in one of the below posting location. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on telecommunications and utility projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the utility engineering industry.

Posting Location: Charlotte, NC

What You’ll Do

• Support telecommunication and utility related project development
• Complete site visits including but not limited to surveying, locating, and documenting existing conditions (may include overnight travel depending on job location)
• Review roadway plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities
• Design telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software

What You’ll Need

• BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
• 0-3 years of experience
• Exposure to transportation plans, telecommunications, or utilities a plus
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus
• Computer proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
• Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
