Job summary

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking a Civil Engineer Trainee to jump-start your civil engineering career. This twelve-month training program develops the engineering skills, abilities, and knowledge required to become a PennDOT civil engineer.

Trainees rotate through districts, participate in classroom instruction, and complete supervised tasks that prepare you for permanent placement. Field visits and site work are included to build practical experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board.
• Within nine months of graduating to meet educational requirements.

Responsibilities
