Job description

Overview

AllTek is partnering with a reputable regional client to identify a high‑caliber Civil Engineer, Staff to join their dynamic team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role offers a chance to be a key contributor within a full‑service environmental, engineering, and construction firm with over two decades of proven expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Work on diverse projects, including hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management, land development, and permit applications.
  • Prepare site plans, E&S control plans, and permit applications, including NPDES and mining permits.
  • Develop construction specifications, engineering cost estimates, and Department of Transportation permits (e.g., Road Occupancy Permits).
  • Design and create 3‑D surfaces, grading plans, parking lot designs, profiles, and cross‑sections using AutoCAD, Civil3D, and drafting techniques.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3‑7 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and site plan development.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and drafting techniques; familiarity with AutoCAD Pipe Networks and Corridors is a plus.
  • Experience with construction specifications, engineering cost estimates, and Department of Transportation permits.
  • Knowledge of NPDES, mining permits, and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Willingness to travel locally to project sites as needed.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with GIS and land development projects.
  • Familiarity with erosion and sediment control planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and permitting processes.
  • Additional experience in construction management or related fields.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Approximately 3‑7 years of relevant civil engineering experience, ideally with environmental and land development focus.
