Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a civil/environmental/mechanical engineer to develop site layouts, drainage, hydraulics, water systems and related structures. You will review drafts for regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to firm policies while performing site studies to align designs with location specs.

The role requires 3 years of related experience and a BS in a relevant field, with travel up to 10% and the opportunity to contribute to technical papers and knowledge management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Creates basic to moderate complexity engineering designs involving site layout, grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment, and occasionally single-story structures.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
• Contributes to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation.
